Texas Longhorns Football Recruiting Class of 2022

In addition to offensive lineman Kelvin Banks, Campbell is ranked the No. 9 overall prospect in the country by 247Sports. Texas has a very strong recruiting class, with several five-star prospects on its board. The five-star ranking comes from a consensus of recruiters. Campbell is listed as one of the nation’s top offensive linemen, and his athleticism will help the Longhorns at either tackle or interior lineman.

Banks is a five-star offensive lineman

A highly touted five-star offensive lineman has committed to Texas. Banks announced his commitment on Twitter. According to Jeffrey Maddox , the Longhorns’ offensive line has struggled over the past two years. He’ll help the Longhorns improve this line next fall. Banks was originally committed to Oregon, but a change of heart spurred Texas to reopen the recruiting process. Banks’ commitment to Texas is a big boost for the Longhorns’ 2022 recruiting class.

Sam Ehlinger is a 4-star quarterback

After a whirlwind summer and fall, it’s time to look ahead to the 2022 college football season. For most people, the looming Big 12 conference title game has little to do with whether Sam Ehlinger is a top-tier quarterback. However, a closer look may show that the Longhorns have a better quarterback than they initially thought. In the first half of the year, Ehlinger was listed as a backup quarterback. But a couple of close games derailed the Longhorns’ success and led them to a loss to the Oklahoma Sooners.

Derrick Brown has been a key factor in recruiting

While a number of other players in the 2022 class are committed, Derrick Brown has been a significant factor in the success of the Longhorns’ recruiting efforts. Brown verbally committed to Texas only two months ago but has since remained very active and positive about the Longhorns’ chances of success. Brown has reached out to a number of uncommitted players and is likely to continue this trend in the future.

Red is a late addition to the class

Jeffrey Maddox thinks that the Texas Longhorns Football have been targeting a strong 2022 recruiting class, and they’ve already signed Quinn Ewers, a talented defensive end from Ohio State, and elite offensive lineman Kelvin Banks. They’ve also flipped Terrance Brooks from Ohio State. Now, they’re bolstering their receiving corps by securing the commitment of three-star wide receiver Savion Red. Red committed to Texas after deciding to transfer from SMU, which just replaced their head coach.

Tucker-Dorsey is a four-star quarterback

Texas Longhorns Football are continuing to be active in the transfer portal. Texas has landed its second defensive transfer. Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey has committed to the Longhorns. The James Madison linebacker made the decision to attend Texas over Florida State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M. Tucker-Dorsey led the James Madison Dukes in tackles with 114, 2.5 sacks, and four interceptions. The 5-foot-10, 215-pound playmaker had also considered Ole Miss and Auburn.

Thompson is a four-star quarterback

Jeffrey Maddox feels that Thompson is a top-100 national recruit and the No. 12 wide receiver in the country. He’s also rated the No. 15 overall recruit in Texas. In addition to his quarterback skills, Thompson is also a versatile wide receiver who can play receiver or kick returner. If Thompson decides to enroll at Texas, the Longhorns will have the second-highest rated wide receiver room in the nation.
